warranty (Frequently Asked Questions)

How may we help you?

  • Do the parts come with a warranty?

Yes, they absolutely do! We want you to feel completely confident in your purchase, which is why every product we sell comes with a warranty.

Because automotive parts require specialized technical know-how to install safely, there are just two quick guidelines to make sure your warranty stays fully protected:

    • Go to the Pros: The part must be installed by a licensed, professional auto repair shop or certified mechanic.

    • Keep your paperwork: To keep your warranty active, you’ll just need to keep a copy of the official work/repair order and the receipt from the shop. Make sure the paperwork clearly details the vehicle, the installation or programming steps, specific services performed, and the labor involved.

Why do we request this? If a part ever runs into an issue during the 6 month warranty period, having that shop report and invoice helps our technical team figure out exactly what went wrong. It lets us see if the part had a pre-existing defect or if something went sideways during the install, allowing us to approve your warranty claim much faster. So, keep those receipts in your glovebox or files, they are your gold ticket!

  • How long is the warranty on the part?

Because we specialize in high-quality used auto parts, every item we sell comes with a 6-month warranty!

Your 6-month coverage starts the exact day your package is delivered to your door. Just remember, to keep that warranty active and fully protected, the part needs to be installed by a licensed, professional auto repair shop.

That gives you plenty of time and peace of mind to get back on the road with confidence!

  • What does B-Parts do if my part is defective?

If your part is still within its 6-month warranty window and stops working properly, don't worry, we’ve got your back! Our main goal is to get your car running again as fast as possible.

Here is how we will handle it:

    • First Choice (The Quick Swap): We will immediately check our inventory to try and replace it with an equivalent, compatible part at no extra cost to you.

    • Second Choice (For Rare or Unique Parts): Since we deal with original used parts, sometimes an item is one-of-a-kind. If we don't have a replacement in stock, we may propose a repair agreement to help cover the fix, or we will simply issue you a full refund.

Just open a ticket with our After-Sales team through the chat, and we'll figure out the absolute best and fastest solution for you!

  • When can I file a warranty claim?

You can activate your warranty anytime during your 6-month coverage window if a mechanical issue or malfunction pops up.

If you notice something isn't working quite right while you're out on the road, just let us know. As long as the part was correctly installed by a licensed professional shop and the invoices for it were kept, we are here to help get it sorted out immediately!

  • How do I submit a warranty claim?

If your part isn't working correctly, starting a warranty claim on our website is super simple! Just follow these easy steps to get our team on the case:

    • Open a Ticket: Head over to our website at https://us.b-parts.com. Click on the three menu bars in the top left corner, select "Contacts," and then click on "Get in touch here." This will let you open a dedicated warranty support ticket!

    • Share the Details: When filling out the ticket, give us as much detail as possible about what the part is (or isn't!) doing.

    • Show us the Issue: To help our team diagnose the problem quickly, please be ready to upload a few photos or a quick video showing the issue, along with your professional shop installation receipt.

Once you submit everything, our After-Sales team will review your ticket right away and reach out to you with the next steps to get you taken care of!

  • What does the B-Parts warranty not cover?

While our warranty has your back for the actual performance of the part, there are a few standard industry exclusions you should know about. Because we sell original used auto parts, the warranty does not cover:

    • Labor & Rental Cars: We cover the cost of the part itself, but any labor charges from your mechanic or the cost of a rental/replacement vehicle while your car is in the shop are not covered.

    • Wear-and-Tear Items & Consumables: Common maintenance items that naturally wear down over time (like brake pads, wiper blades, gaskets, seals, belts, or spark plugs) are excluded.

    • Cosmetic or Paint Imperfections: These are awesome, genuine used parts! Because they came off real donor vehicles, they might have minor scratches, scuffs, or paint imperfections. We think of them as character marks that save you tons of cash!

    • Pre-Existing Damage: Any cosmetic dings or specific flaws that we explicitly showed or mentioned in the item's listing before you bought it aren't covered.

    • Bonus / Courtesy Accessories: Sometimes a part comes with extra little bonus items or accessories attached (like an extra bracket, wire harness, or clip) that we left on just to be helpful. Because these are free courtesies, they aren't covered by the official warranty.

If you ever have a question about whether a specific issue is covered, just follow the path to our contact ticket and our team will gladly take a look for you!

  • Will my part lose its warranty if the markings or seals are altered?

Yes, absolutely. To protect the integrity of our inventory, we mark our parts with unique identification engravings, stamps, or tamper-proof security seals. Think of these as your part’s warranty passport!

If these marks or seals are broken, removed, painted over, or tampered with in any way, the warranty is instantly voided, and we won't be able to accept it for a return or replacement.

What if your mechanic has to open it? We know that sometimes during installation, a professional mechanic might need to open a component or remove a bracket in a way that might disturb a seal. If that happens, please contact our After-Sales team via our website ticket before doing anything! If you get our team's green light in writing first, we can make an official note on your account to keep your warranty fully protected.

Just reach out before you alter anything, and we’ll always do our best to help you out!

  • Are there any special warranty rules for engines and transmissions?

Yes. Because engines and transmissions are major mechanical assemblies, we have a strict "Read Before Install" Checklist. To keep your 6-month warranty valid, the installation must be performed by a Licensed Dealership or an ASE-Certified Mechanic (and for hybrid powertrains, an ASE L3-Certified technician).

Your mechanic must replace the following consumable and maintenance items prior to installation, and you must keep all receipts and work orders to prove it:

    🛠️ Mandatory Pre-Installation Checklist

    • Filters: Brand-new engine oil, air, fuel, and transmission filters. (Failure to install a new transmission filter instantly voids transmission warranties!)

    • Gaskets & Seals: New valve cover, oil pan, and thermostat gaskets, along with a brand-new rear main seal.

    • Fluids: A complete drain and refill of engine oil and/or transmission fluid to exact manufacturer-specified levels. (Low fluid levels will immediately void a transmission warranty!)

    • Belts & Chains: Brand-new timing belts, timing chains, and accessory drive belts.

    • Ignition (Engines only): Brand-new spark plugs and new ignition coils/boots.

    • Cooling System: A complete flush of the cooling system and refill to proper capacity. (Hybrid Note: Both the engine and inverter cooling systems must be flushed and refilled using exact OEM-specified, non-conductive coolant).

🔍 What is Covered vs. Not Covered

    • For Engines: We guarantee the engine will not have a cracked block, cracked head, or bad crankshaft. Only parts strictly internal to the cylinder block and cylinder head(s) are warrantied. External "bolt-on" parts (injectors, hoses, manifolds, sensors, wiring, etc.) are left on strictly for your installer's convenience and are completely excluded from coverage.

    • For Transmissions: Coverage applies strictly to the internal gears and mechanical operation. The warranty is completely voided by low fluid levels, failure to install a new filter, a broken front pump, or improper installation.

    • No Labor or Extra Costs: Warranty coverage is strictly limited to the original purchase price of the part. Labor charges, shop fees, or rental car costs are never covered.

    🚫 Instant Warranty Void Triggers

Your warranty will be immediately cancelled and any claim rejected if:

The engine overheats: Overheating voids all coverage.

Heat tabs are messed with: Do not remove, alter, or paint over the heat tabs installed on the engine. If an engine is returned and a heat tab is melted, altered, or missing, the warranty is void.

Uncertified Install: The part is installed by a DIYer or an uncertified shop.

📋 How to File a Claim (RMA)

If you run into an issue, head to https://us.b-parts.com, click the three bars in the top left, select "Contacts," and click "Get in touch here" to open a ticket.

Before a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) can be issued, you will be required to submit a Written Diagnostic Report from your ASE-Certified shop, along with the receipts proving all the mandatory checklist items above were purchased and installed.

📞 Need Tech Support? If you or your mechanic have any questions during the install, give our dedicated US support team a call at +1 (248) 422-2411, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (EST). We are here to help!

  • Are there any special warranty rules for A/C compressors?

Yes! A/C compressors are highly sensitive mechanical parts. If your old compressor failed, it likely left metallic debris or contamination throughout your car's climate control system. If you just bolt the replacement compressor on without cleaning the system, that debris will immediately destroy the new part.

Because of this, no warranty claims will be accepted unless your licensed mechanic follows these strict installation steps:

    • Replace the filter/drier: You must install a brand-new receiver drier or accumulator filter at the time of installation.

    • Flush the entire circuit: The A/C lines, evaporator, and condenser must be completely flushed and cleaned using specialized professional equipment and A/C flush fluids to remove old oil and debris.

    • Check or replace the valve: Inspect the expansion valve. If it is clogged or worn, it must be replaced. If your vehicle’s system uses an orifice tube/throttling valve instead, that must be replaced with a brand-new one.

    • Use the right refrigerant: The system must be charged with the exact type and amount of refrigerant gas (like R-134a or R-1234yf) that the compressor was originally designed for.

    • Verify the oil level: Your mechanic must check and adjust the PAG oil level inside the compressor after it's mounted to ensure it has the correct lubrication before turning the system on.

Make sure to keep the shop invoice showing that the system flush was performed and that a new filter/drier and valve were purchased. Our After-Sales team will request this documentation if you ever need to file a warranty claim!

  • Do you sell airbags, seat belts, or tires?

No, B-Parts does not sell airbags, seat belts, or tires.

Due to strict safety regulations, shipping restrictions and specialized rubber components, we do not stock or sell these specific items.

However, we carry almost every other mechanical, electrical, and body part you could possibly need! Head over to our homepage search bar to find the perfect compatible part for your vehicle.
